The Women in Social Housing (WISH) North East Board is made up of 12 board members and ambassadors who work at social housing providers or organisations that support the sector. The board works together, on a voluntary basis, to put on several events each year for WISH members to attend. The team all have busy lives outside of the board and the fact they do all this voluntarily speaks to their commitment to helping women in the sector learn, develop and build their networks.

The board’s events schedule this year has been one of its busiest and most successful to date. It has worked on leadership development with women early on in their careers; convened women from all levels of their organisations to learn about how to better manage their health and well-being; held a data summit with Home Group; and held an amazing International Women’s Day event on 7 March, where 150 colleagues from across the sector came together to celebrate women working in social housing.
