Linzi Heggie – Wheatley Group
Linzi Heggie, locality housing director at Wheatley Group, and her team have helped make the £100m Wyndford regeneration project in Glasgow a success for all involved. She has rehoused 600 tenants and progressed a complex demolition programme – all while putting the community firmly at the heart of every decision. Linzi’s leadership stands out for its combination of resilience, empathy and collaboration. Her ability to bring people together – from Wheatley colleagues and council staff to community groups – has been central to the project’s success.
Linzi’s team and tenants alike describe her as an inspiring and supportive leader. She has a deep commitment to visible, hands-on leadership, ensuring her team is active in the community and listening at every doorstep. Perhaps her most outstanding achievement was supporting the creation of the tenant-led Wyndford Futures Focus Group.
Under her support and guidance, this group played a lead role in shaping the area’s masterplan – and went on to win Tenant Team of the Year at the Tpas Scotland National Good Practice Awards in June 2024.
The judges said:
“Linzi has clearly navigated the challenges of large-scale regeneration to improve the urban landscape and wider community through leading and inspiring a team of internal and external stakeholders”
